Well, I decided to experiment with a little different style of my Scale models presentation: slide show of the photos in the form of 4K video. You can see the first vid here – my recently built Spitfire Mk. IIA. Please, let me know what do you think about this style of presentation? Would you like it or would you prefer static photos in my gallery?

Note: don’t forget to set the resolution of the vid to 4K (the default resolution of the attached vid is much lower)

Code letters: AK RC 289 RAF Medium Sea Grey + RC 004 White, ratio 1:1
SkyBlue tail band: AK RC 321 RLM 76 version 2

Camo:
Dark Earth: RC 287 + RC222, ratio 3:1
Dark Earth lights: + add more RC 222

Dark Green: TAMIYA XF-51 + XF-13 + XF-4, ratio 5:1:4
Dark Green lights: + add XF-78

Sky: TAMIYA XF-21 + RC 290 + RC 222, ratio 2:1:3
Sky lights: + add more RC 222

Weathering:
Wauchop’s mix: XF-2 Black + XF-64 Red Brown, ratio 3:2 (heavily diluted)
Exhaust stains: XF-55 Deck Tan


Scale Models



This Spit is built just straight from the box. All gaps were filled with black superglue. “Canvas covers” of the gun holes in the leading edge were made from TAMYA masking tape and the holes were made with the help of “Punch and Die” set – I made 1 mm hole.

Omask Plugs were used to mask wheel wells:

Then the kit was then locally airbrushed with MRP Grey Surfacer (there is already airbrushed “Sky Blue” ID band on the rear fuselage- I used RLM76 (AK RC 321) for it is very similar to that pale Sky Blue color):
